We decided that you were all right and that we had more room in the WIR, so we decided to add a couple of children

Harv's not sure he likes his new stablemates

Chickens are safely tucked up in bed, food and water all safely stored away so Mr Rat cannot get to them.

Once again big thanks to everyone on the Forum for their very useful posts. :D

It's been a good day, its now 17:35 and Fox Knox is shut up for the night.

I would never have noticed that a small comb meant that they were young, the only reason that we know is because the Omlet man told us

Our kids would happily sleep in the Eglu with the chikens if we installed an Xbox too. :)

They have been in bed since 17:30 (when it got dark), I intend to let them out when I go to work at 06:00, this means that they will have been in bed for 12 1/2 hours. Is this ok?.....No food or water for that amount of time either?

They have had some food/water & corn this afternoon but is 12 1/2 hours bedtime normal?

Cheaky Chook: thanks, we have warned them about the poo! Henrietta has more ginger around her neck than Margaret but your right they could be twins.

Egluntyne: thanks and thanks for the tip about uploading pics.

Donna c: The WIR is from 'chirpy coops' it is 9' x 6' x 6'. it was (and still is i think) on special offer at £300, delivery was £30 to us (Essex) and although we didn't take them up on it, it was £40 to erect it. We have 3 Hens but I'm guessing that we could easily add another. I'm not sure of the correct Hen per square metre ratio.

Can someone please get back to us regarding 12 1/2 hours locked up in the !gogreen! , is that ok?

Thanks

Hi your hens are lovely - all shiny and new. My white hen is now a lovely shade of mud, and my bluebelle is moulting so is basically rather bald. Also I thought she was huge but in fact that was mainly feathers. I have read on other threads that being locked up for that length of time is fine (with no drink/food) and mine are going off to bed at 5pm ish and I let them out at around 6.30am or a bit later. Your run is fab btw.
