Vertical blinds

Recommended Posts

If you ever take a fancy to putting vertical blinds up in your house, and you think to yourself, "those ones they sell in Argos look like a doddle to do yourself", then I suggest you step away from the catalogue, pick up your yellow pages, and phone a profesional.

Yes, they will char ge a wee bit more, but it'll save you the indignity of having the neighbours crowding around your window to watch and giggle as you curse at a 2 inch wide piece of material that is destined to never be the same length as the one next to it. I'll not mention the fact that I've run out of slats with one space left  , or that while hacksawing the header rail to size, I nearly sawed off a couple of fingers.

Don't do it ladies......(and gents)..........stick with the nets instead!

Us too, we had one fitted by a very nice man in about half an hour

We had just decorated Jules room and we have very hard, thick walls that Dan didn't fancy drilling into

Now - if you'd have said Shona, I could have made you some lovely roman blinds in exchange for some raised beds

Well...look on the bright side. At least you can look at them and get some satisfaction that you did them yourself. I'm sure they'll add character to an already barmy household!

You know, I'm desperately trying to take offense to that remark, but I can't help that feel that you got our household totally sussed, Gina!:lol::lol::lol:

Now it's funny you mention that Fee, but that picture of the little frizzley frizzle has sent me scurrying out to the back garden to ready the 'chicken bit', in the hope of re-filling the Eglu very soon.....

No not yet Shona, obviously I'm hoping one is a girl for me to keep, and then the rest are up for 'adoption'. The Wyandottes, Orps and Welsummers are coming on a treat and I'm just starting to get sexing clues. They are 5 weeks this week (I'll post some pics in 'chickens' to tempt you  ).
