Doody
Hi all, Im just sitting here having a cup of tea while looking at all the snow in the garden. The chickens are sitting close to the conservatory with their feathers all fluffed up. They have had a good amount of food today, along with a warm breakfast to start the day. However in my madness, i was just drinking my tea and thought to myself "Could you give some warm tea to chickens?" Ive been giving them luke warm water to help with all this cold weather we have been having and they love it. Was wondering if anyone else has thought of this or could tell me if its safe for them. Id go easy on the sugar ha ha!!! Mark
Egluntyne
Erm......probably not a good idea. Caffeine might not be good for them, and milk and 2 sugars will rot their teeth.

skye
My Amber Star Lily LOVES a cuppa! I don't exactly give her her own cup, so to speak, but if I'm having a cup of tea in the garden, she likes to wait til I'm nearly at the bottom of my cup, about half an inch, and it's cooled down... waits for me to tilt the cup so she can get her beak in... then slurps the dregs down like "Ooops, word censored!"ody's business! None of the others are interested, but she loves a cuppa Must have been a builder in a previous life, bless er Don't tell our guests my hen drinks out of our cups skye x
Henhathnofury
My speckled sussex has put her beak into my tea...I really didn't fancy it then with bits of layers mash floating in it... Every night she almost applauds when I give the warm water bowl...it must be lovely in this weather...so might try the tea. Earl Grey do you think?
