bouldercroft
Korma is definitely crouching...she was almost flat on her belly when my hubby approached her today So the clock starts now on proving this theory.... New Year Eggs maybe?
soapdragon
Yup- we have just been through this with our Light Susssex bantams. Approx. one week after crouching started we got our first egg - in the middle of the coldest winter, if you please! You won't have to wait long! green
Keep checking that nest, it shouldn't be too long... Both of my chooks laid their first egg within a week after they first crouched.

chickyhazel
Sorry to be pessimistic but some chickens start to lay up to a month after they start crouching... most start within a fortnight though.
