Alis girls
i thought there was a thread on this but think it was on another film - has anyone seen it? Girl at work wants to see but her daughter said it was "dark and scarey" Just what I need at present - to be scared and in a dark place
bluekarin
I really wanted to go and see it until I saw Film 2011 and they said it was a bit scary, and me and scary do not go. Claudia loved it and the chap wasn't that impressed. And whilst on the subject I'm not enjoying Film 2011 as I really don't feel the two presenters get on at all. But back to the film. I will watch it, but probably on DVD, with a cushion and the ability to be able to leave the room if it all gets too much I am such a
Cinnamon
Don't fancy it myself. Too psychological & creepy sounding for my tastes.
Alis girls
I think I will go and see - love scary my other half hates scary - ES had taken after me and I got him a DVD for Xmas "let the right one in" - he watched it with 2 mates and was spooked - vampires etc and the cats in it could sense evil and offered some protection - so when he got home and went to bed - he took our cat with him. Fat lot of good she would be in a crisis - she would be the first under the bed at the sign of any vampires believe me.
Old Speckled Hen
Am going to see this tomorrow or Friday. Really looking forward to it. Haven't seen Natalie Portman since Star Wars, having missed The Other Boleyn Girl. Darren Oronofsky directed Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler which I enjoyed and for you X Men fans The Wolverine is in pre production Will report back. PS went to see 127 hours (hubby has the book) and had to watch the amputation hunkered down in my seat through my fingers. It reminded me how I used to peep round the sofa to watch the Daleks
alih
I went to see it on Sunday and thought it was absolutely dreadful. It is a bit scary at times but is silly in the extreme, misogynnistic, heavy-handed and probably best summarised as Basic Instinct in tutus. I was really disappointed and cannot understand the Oscars hype. Probably just me though.
Mercedes55
I went to see it last night with OH. The first half is quite slow and you begin to wonder if it's ever going to get going. The second half was much better and I think I enjoyed it mainly as I love the Swan Lake ballet, so it was nice seeing all the dancing. It is a bit weird and a bit scary at times, but I'm quite a wimp when it comes to scary movies I would recommend it though

I thought exactly the same thing as i was peering and cringing through my fingers. remember doing the same many years ago when the Daleks were on lol back to topic, not heard of Black Swan! Lavenders_Blue
Eek, don't think I'll be going to see this. I get scared playing Cluedo!
Janepie33
Went to see it today and wouldn't describe it as scary. Very dark and quite confusing in places though. Beautiful dancing scenes, lovely music. Highly recommended!
Old Speckled Hen
Finally managed to get to see this and I liked it. As Jane said a tad confusing in parts. Hubby really enjoyed it and it's not usually his sort of film. Wel deserved BAFTA...I've seen all the nominees apart from True Grit and I agreed that Natalie Portman's performance was the one Now where can I get a copy of "Four Lions"? Ahhhhhh found it on LOVEFiLM
