cheeky girls Posted February 14, 2011 Share Posted February 14, 2011 Help - one of my girls has got a large clump of mud/aubiose stuck to one of her claws. I have tried to bathe it in warm water but it seems to be stuck like concrete. I'm not sure how gentle / how much pressure I can put on her claw without hurting her - or, will she be bright enough to peck the mud off herself Any advise gratefully accepted. megalin Posted February 14, 2011 Share Posted February 14, 2011 It's really tricky. I'm doing mine today too.... I have a pekin who picks up mud balls. I think if you can stand her in some water for a while with a bit of soap in. It can take a while. Does she have feathered feet? They don't pick them off themselves unfortunately. I waited for a dry day and broke it off gently, but given the weather, you might do better to soak gently in warm water if your girl will put up with that. I used an old toothbrush to get the dirt off and she chatted to me the whole time she was being washed.
