Griffin
White Silkie baby isn't feeling well today. When I went in this morning she was hunched up whilst everyone else was pottering about. She's managed to eat and drink but wants her mum to keep her warm all the time. I've put Coxoid in the water and turned the heat lamp on. Fingers crossed she perks up and that "Ooops, word censored!"ody else falls ill.
craftyhunnypie
Oh no! Perhaps she got caught in a draft? It has been a bitter wind lately. Emma.x
Griffin
They're in the garage still so she should've been ok. No real change in her yet.

Griffin
She was worse this morning so I've started her on antibiotics. Tonight she seems a little bit better. She's still weak but she's eating and drinking. She's a lot smaller than the other Silkies though.

Griffin
No change at all. I'm not feeling hopeful. Thankfully the others seem ok.
Griffin
Little white Silkie died in the night Everyone else is fine so I think there was always something fundamentally wrong with the white one. It took forever to hatch, needed help, was very wobbly for a few days before then seeming to turn a corner. It never caught up with the others size wize though. A huge shame, and sad for Tiger too because it must've been upsetting for her to know one of her babies was ill.
craftyhunnypie
I'm so sorry Griffin - Poor poor Tiger. I guess the little one hatched before it's time & never fully caught up. Poor little love. Emma.x
Griffin
I think the chicks are nearly seven weeks old now. I know that one of the Silkies is a boy but I've no idea about the other two, they've got straight combs which makes it harder but they have pom pom tails which he hasn't got so maybe my lucks in? And theirs too! I've still no idea what chickwotisnotadutch is, other than painfully shy I've always thought the Poots were one of each, one has no colouring to it's face/head gear at all whereas the other one has had very pink wattles for weeks. Greyish blueish Silkie: Boy Silkie: The tother one who looks like Marge Simpson: Chickwotisnotadutch: Boy combage? Buff mottled Poot boy shouting? craftyhunnypie
Oooo.. silkies - girl, boy, girl ( loving Marge), Dutchie girl, Poots both girls - one with a larger comb. Just a guess - smack my wrist if I'm wrong! Emma.x
