stehaggan
We are trying to do as much on our allotment whilst we can... one of our girls got out of the netted area the other day whilst we were digging and the others were going mental at all the worms she was getting for herself... so we couldn't resist letting them out to give us a bit of a helping hand lol.. they loved it... we were digging and they were scratching in the beds, they could spot the worms before we even could lol.. they really are cheeky lol x IF YOU CLICK THE SECOND PICTURE IT SHOULD OPEN UP AS A VIDEO!! Lavenders_Blue
Great photo and video Ste You allotment looks remarkably tidy, I'm very impressed! My Dad has an allotment and it mostly looks like a jungle Mustn't complain as he grows lots of chard and other goodies for my girls. Your hens were very well behaved, not rampaging all over everyone else's plots, I think mine would be off like rockets and I'd have to spend hours rounding them up from other people's lettuce beds! stehaggan
Thanks Lavender... yes we have worked quite hard to getting it looking half decent really. Its not so bad at the moment because few weeds but in the summer it will be mad again, it was a jungle when we got it last year. We are in the process of getting another one, either next to it or just across the path so i will just dig that all over and plant fruit on it so its nice and simple... ooo and make another chicken run lol Mmmmm you should get him to grow ruby chard if he doesn't already its a vibrant red and is delicious steamed with garlic and butter. The girls love kale aswell they go mad for it x

migsy
Great video. I'm always scared of chopping a toe off mine when I am digging as they get right under my feet in the excitement for worms. I'm being nosey but where abouts in Manchester is your allotment?
