After 4 weeks of introductions and 5 weeks to the day since I bought Nugget and drumstick home they both laid their first egg today. Not sure who laid which egg yet, one was a most beautiful blue and the other was similar to Jasmin's a blue green. I know it wasn't Jasmin's as she also laid. So today 5 girls and 4 eggs. Way to go. Am I to old to be this excited.

Image of Nugget and Drumstick's 1st eggs. I don't know who laid what yet. The blue one is a much nicer colour than the image shows. I have had 2 blue soft shells since but am sure things will settle down.

 

 

This image shows how different the eggs are from each of my 5 girls. Am I the only one this obbsessed. No, I don't think so.

Congratulations!!! No you are absolutely NOT too old to be this excited (well, if you are, then so am I, not that I know how old you are) My girls have been laying since I had them in July and I can honestly say, I still get the same buzz out of collecting eggs now as I did with that very first one. My Mum came to stay last week and she just didn't get it at all, but that's Mums for you!!!

Bramble I have one friend who totally understands (gets it) . I have to write the names of the girls on each egg for her but most people just think of me as the mad chicken and pottery lady.

The feeling their first eggs give you can't be matched. (At least I know on this forum I won't be thought of as sad for saying that. )
