I am absolutely cream crackered - I never thought hatching 6 chicks would be so exhausting I may hatch some more in about 6 months time Chinese takeway and early night for me

How long are you hoping it will last? I can see you have some plastic mesh down to stop it getting muddy. Let me know if that works I could do with something like that around my duck pond.

Man in the garden centre said it will keep growing now so I am only going to walk on the protected bits and hope it can cope with the girls They have a big woodchip area to scratch and dustbathe in as well.

Wow, is that what grass looks like, I'd forgotten, mine is thick mud brown, slippy and sticky. The chickens just seem to jump up and down until what lawn is totally destroyed!

Oh lovely green stuff, may I make one suggestion, we did the same last year..put down a path, and only walk on it in the bad weather, ours has survive through this rotton weather and still looking good. Mind you mine are not allowed on the grass at all now,they have their own garden extenstion ( 12 foot of mud )
