Snowy
Anyone else going? 24th - 27th March. I've never been and would love to go!
Ygerna
I would love to go. But, I fear it would become extremely expensive
fluffyfeet
I'm thinking about going this year - haven't been for a while as it did go a bit mad on the card making supplies front but hope fully a better balance has now returned. Any idea which day you might go - it would be great to meet up for coffee. Ygerna - you're absolutely right, you can go a little berserk with the show specials/offers - I've got loads of stuff sitting in my loft that prove just that Please be warned though - when attending this show sweet little old ladies turn into Bodaecia(sp) and Atilla the Hun hybrids!! I have lost count of the number of times I've been bashed/elbowed and trodden on at this show - even when I was pregnant! And beware the invalid carriages - they're lethal!! Vivihen
It is one of the better ones, normally; not as good as the 'Knitting and Stitching' but much, much better than the one that is held in November.
Charlottechicken
The last one I went to was two years ago I think. The amount and choice of stuff for sale was staggering, and the prices were good. The sewing/knitting type craft things on display were utterly mind blowing. I ended up just buying some lovely pairs of pliers for jewellery repair/making, which were ridiculously cheap. If I had been into any particular crafts I would have been broke for sure! I do remember watching a woman spin old plastic bags into yarn on a spinning wheel, that was clever! You can usually get the tickets through Tesco clubcard offers, which gives you a bit more to spend at the show
Snowy
Well hubby is off on the 25th (Friday) and 26th (Sat) - I would prefer the Friday as that would mean I wouldn't feel guilty about leaving him with the children all day, and hopefully it will be quieter than the Saturday. But could also do Saturday if needs be.
fluffyfeet
Saturday and Sunday do get mega-busy, so I would recommend going on the Friday if you can. I will probably be going on Friday as well and might even have a go at a workshop this time. You can also save money on your ticket if you order in advance from the ICHF website. Once you have ordered from them, they will send you a reminder and an advance booking form each year. I have also found a way to restrict my spending effectively too - I go on the train, which means if I buy it I have to carry it all the way back, and I save the extortionate parking fee of £8! Snowy
Looks like the Friday it is then! Train could be a good idea as well - which station do you head for that is nearest the NEC?
Charlottechicken
Birmingham International is part of the NEC complex, Snowy You don't have to go outside, just up the stairs and over a link bridge
Snowy
Bump - it's this Friday! Is it just me and Fluffyfeet, or will anyone else be joining us?
