Luvachicken
When my rabbit was given Baytril, after a few days the medicine in the container had little teeny strands in. I told the receptionist this when my rabbit had to go back. She said they'd look into it. Now Matilda is on Baytril too and the same thing is happening. I was given 2 brand new syringes. I'm pretty certain the strands weren't there in the first place but now they are. The Baytril for Matilda is in a slightly different container - it's a clear yellow one instead of just a clear one. Has anyone else noticed this ? Does anyone know what the strands are ? Maybe specks of plastic break off between the lid ( a childproof one) and the container ? Does the Baytril "eat" into the plastic container ? Are the strands safe ? I guess they must be because my rabbit is fine. Any answers would be greatly appreciated
Chortle Chook
I think that it could be the Baytril coagulating. I have noticed the same thing, but it did not seem to make any difference to either my chooks or my pet rats (when I had them).
Luvachicken
I'm glad someone else has noticed this too. I was beginning to think somehow I'd contaminated the medicine.
Sammiboo
no dont worry its not "eating" the plastic. When i worked at a bird sanctaury we had baytril and the bottles they come in are plastic too.
