Goldstar
My hayfever hasnt stated yet, I am allergic to grass and flower pollen. Not looking forward to it as it plays havoc with my asthma. Re oral allergy syndrome I have this problem with raw mushrooms and pineapple. I didnt know that it had a proper name. You learn something new everyday. Thank you all knowing Omleteers. Chickvic
I take an anti-histamine every day so haven't had any major symptoms yet! I have also bought some local honey, I have heard that if it is local honey and I take a spoon every day it should help with symptoms as well. Has anyone else heard of this? I'll be giving it a go anyway

Tried having it on my cereal but I got soo sick of the honey so avoid it now!! Maybe thats just me though...

Olly
I love honey, and I'd heard that it can help to desensitise you to hayfever. What better than my own, local honey for that? Unfortunately, I'm allergic to the honey too!
Sageandonion
My hayfever came back today with a vengeance . Been outside at a theme park today and am sitting here with a stonker of a headache, itchy throat and bunged up nose. My hayfever first started at the age of 26 and I've had it every year since. Strangely it was never so bad during my pregnancies - not that I'm advocating that as a treatment . Back on the beconase tomorrow for me. Lesley
Tree pollen started me off last week as well - I managed to wean myself off antihistamines over a year ago and I now take New Era tissue salts, hayfever combination. I still have to use a small squirt of Beconase spray at bedtime. I have some of our own honey every day but I love honey anyway - it coincided with giving up the antihistamines so it may well have helped....... Valkyrie
I have the New Era ones too. I have been using the Flixonaise if it's really bad. Had to resort to eye drops again yesterday. Bah humbug. The tablets and the spray were used a fair bit over the weekend but alls well today although the eyes are putting up a fight but I'm winning - I think. Bananas make my mouth itch - but I still eat them regardless (they don't make me itch when they are baked) and so do pears (unless they are tinned and I haven't had those for years). Can't remember anything else unless I come across it. When we first moved here there was a big patch of raspberry canes and we had so many fruits that we were eating them for breakfast, lunch and tea. I came out in hives!!!! But since then I haven't scoffed quite as many as I did that year and the hives hasn't returned. Phew! Thank goodness I'm not allergic to choccy!
