auntielizzie
I had been wondering what type of creature had been digging around the coop and my compost bin. Today I looked out of the kitchen window to see a rat sitting in the middle of the lawn eating up the bits of corn which had been dropped by my grandson the previous evening! Any advice how to deal with it? Not sure I'm happy about poisoning/killing furry creature Obviously I don't want to end up with a problem though. luggage16
do cats help to keep rats away? We have 2 and they are real hunters so im hoping they will help deter any from lurking in the garden!

C&T
I'ld go the poison route... I know others disagree - but it seems the only truly effective way. Use it as safely as possible - use the special boxes to other wildlife can't eat the poison, and use the poison that claims it's safe should any other animal eat the poisoned rat. Oh, and be patient - rats are wary so put the poison down and leave alone for a few days before checking. Good luck with whatever you do! He didn't last long after a cat figured out where he hid!
