rachel19
Hi everyone, We got two mini-lops last year and like to let them loose in the garden when we're around so they get lots of exercise and free food. They have however taken to making a bee-line straight for the conifer when we let them out now - I know this can be nasty stuff but wondered if it were poisonous to bunnies? They seem ok in themselves, I chase them off it everytime but they do manage to get a bit from time to time. Just wondered if anyone knew if it is likely to do any harm? beach chick
I dont know the actual answer, but in my experience bunnies are quite canny about what they should and shouldn't eat. they probably just want a good chew - and mine always preferred branches of apple trees to any of those chew things you can buy! LuckyChickenLover-
All my books say to avoid evergreen trees and shrubs. They'll probably be okay as long as they don't get any more. Could you put something around the tree to stop them getting at it?
rachel19
We've now cut the bottom branches off so they cannot get to it. Hopefully this will stop them!!! They don't seem ill after eating it or anything, you just don't know if toxins build up or anything over a period of time do you. Thanks for the replies
