Donna C
Hi , as the title says, i've put bluebel in the sin bin. A cage with a perch, water and food. I've put it in the wir so she's still with rose. What do i do now? She is pacing around somtimes perching. Do i just wait and let her out if she doesn't sit down for long? Also one of them layed a softie, does this mean we're comming out of it? Egluntyne
If she is there because she is broody, leave her there for 3 days minimum, and she should come to her senses.

The Dogmother
Just leave her in there 24/7 Donna - instructions here and the forum FAQ section.
Donna C
Do i need to cover her up at night? Also I'm using a small dog cage so gap between bars is bigger so have kept tray in. I do feel sorry for the poor girl
Tweety
I don't bother covering mine at night in the sin bin. I know how guilty you feel, but you are doing the best thing for her - if you leave her to her broodiness, she won't look after herself properly and will lose condition. This way, she should snap out of it after 3 days.
beach chick
3 days?!!! I've only ever managed 48 hours... soft sap I am. Fairy was in ours a couple of days ago - she managed to escape the first night! bunged her back in next day, and she's out of it now. The Dogmother
No, they need 3 days 24/7 to really cool them back down.
Donna C
left her in it overnight, and she is fine although still broody. Going to give her full 3 days. That leads me to tomorrow, day 3. Do i let her out tomorrow night or give her a fourth night and let her out in morning?
The Dogmother
I always aim to let them out in the morning so that they are less inclined to head back to the nest.
Donna C
Thats great thanks, my other orp hasn't laid for a few days, got a bit broody and has now layed shell less egg, what does this mean?? Sorry re all questions
The Dogmother
*shrugs* it doesn't mean much really, just that she had a soft egg on the way, just keep an eye on her and try not to worry.

dixie chick
Has the sin bin worked Donna?
Donna C
Well ,this is day 3 so tomorrow morning i'm going to let her out. She seems to be alot more active and not sitting so that must be good. However my other one has stated to lay shell less eggs. As if you'd just cracked open an egg although there is a sheet of soft shell. Any hints/tips on what to give them to get them back on track or just time?
