craftyhunnypie
Bringing day old chicks home is fine. Put them in the brooder once home under heat. I've had some from Wernlas & other breeders in the past. They usually send you home with them in a special chick box. It's a cardboard box that has been adapted to have no corners for them to squash into & a special lid. You put the lid on in certain ways to suit what the weather is like. If hot, it goes on in one direction, if cool, then a different direction. They have been absolutely fine. They have always put a good layer of shavings in my chick boxes & a few chick crumbs. Introducing chicks to other chicks of similar age at such an early age is best. It saves for any pecky intro's later. Good luck Emma.x

Tweety
Cheshire Poultry in Stockport sells day old chicks, and they sell Silkies too, so it might be worth trying them.
