scarlettohara
My sons will be 20 in June, I want to buy them something special, thought of a flying lesson but so hard to organise as they don't get many days off and rarely at the same time Help
snowberry
Surely something can be arranged with enough notice? The weather should be good at that time of year!
scarlettohara
They only get their shifts a few days before and I want it to be surprise and for them to go together
Lewis
Depends when their birthday is but 6th June is a Bank Holiday - do they get those off? Maybe get them both to book their birthday off (or another day), but keep the surprise and do it then?
scarlettohara
They are going away for their birthday and no don't get bank holidays off - nor me
chicken bark
Could you book them a flying lesson but leave the date open for them to arrange when they can? Could you arrange for something to happen when they are away on holiday? I don't know where they are going but maybe there is an 'experience' that can be added to that trip? scarlettohara
Yes I think that is the best idea - open ended - thanks
Lewis
I thought that after, voucher is a good idea. Make sure they use it though. Me + Nat got Zorbing for Christmas and didn't realise it had expired by the time we went to book it!
PurpleTree
My parents bought me an half hour flying lesson for my 18th, it was at the local flying club. It came as a certificate and I had to phone & arrange the date. It was almost cancelled due to it being windy on the day, it was in a little 2-seater plane. Was my first ever time in an aeroplane too, it was fab

stoice
6th June is a Bank Holiday Er, I don't think it is, sorry. (Sorry a bit off topic) It is the Queens official birthday on 6th June this year but not a BH. Next year is her Diamond Jubilee so they are putting back the late May bank holiday to Monday 4 June and adding an additional Jubilee bank holiday on Tuesday 5 June. Another 4 day weekend! linky thingy
scarlettohara
No it's not a bank holiday. I have a confession to make - my cousin owns his own plane, he keeps it at the airfield where he runs the cafe He is very hard to track down though which is why it may not happen and I asked for other ideas
