billathome65 Posted May 24, 2011 Share Posted May 24, 2011 We got our first egg today Yayyyyyyyyyyyy i'm well chuffed i'm not sure which one laid it though Only problem is they are not laying in the nest box so how can I encourage them to lay there? I have ex-batts, who have never seen nestboxes, and the easiest way to persuade them that it's the best place to lay is to beg/borrow/steal rubber or china eggs and put them in the nestbox. They then think it's a safe place to lay, as "someone else" has done it before, and they get into the habit. Doesn't stop them opting for the back of the flower-bed if they feek like it though ...
