sadietoo
After more than 18 years of faithful service our Bosch Dishwasher (Robert) has given up the ghost... We've had such tremendous service from it that our temptation is to replace it with another Bosch, but before we go ahead, I would be very grateful to hear your verdicts of some rather more up to date kit, since maybe they don't make them like they used to! As ever your experiences much appreciated.x
Eggasperated
Although I can't give you a recommendation, I thoroughly agree with the sentiment. I had a Hotpoint DW for 13 years with no trouble at all ( and we left it with the new owners when we moved) my next Hotpoint has had several problems over the 5 years I've had it and when one of their engineers came to fix it he ended up with bits left over that he didn't know where they had come from - mind you it is still working. Olly
I've got a Bosch, it came with the house so I didn't choose it, but it's running well. If I was buying another, I'd look for two features - the ability to wash just one tray, if you've only got Agee thongs in there, and a timer so you can set it to start at a later time. bigmommasally
I had a Bosch which was great, had it for over 10 years but recently had a new kitchen fitted and decided to go for a new integrated one. We took the advice of the kitchen fitter and went for a Zanussi - it is utter rubbish, my dinner plates don't fit in, the top basket is not height asjustable to allow for larger items, if I pack it closely then things don't wash properly, so I have to space items out to make sure they come out clean. All in all a total disaster buy. give me back my old faithful Bosch anyday.
Chicken Licken
I have a little Bosch A rated dishwasher. It has all the improvements that Oli mentioned and is fab!
Reikiranf
My only advice is not to buy Hotpoint, my original one was fab but I've since found out that it would have been made by Bosch, and the new version of it is rubbish it broke down under warranty and they couldn't send anyone round for 13 days which I thought was unacceptable. I paid a local repair man to fix it and contacted Hotpoint to see if they'd cover the cost of the part as a gesture of goodwill, they refused so I told them that as the rest of my Hotpoint appliances broke down I would replace them with another brand, as they had shown me that their customer service was as shoddy as their products
beach chick
we've got a Bosch at the moment - it runs well, but I find the trays a bit fiddly to move about.
Willow
I have an AEG integrated dishwasher that was expensive because I wanted the quietest I could get as we pretty much live in the kitchen area. The dishwasher is amazingly quiet we barely notice it is on... until it empties and there is lots of gurgling and rush of water sound in the pipes The only thing I would say is to check what size (& weight) of dinner plate it can take. Our lower tray keeps slipping off it's runners when it's fully loaded with dinner plates
WarrensWorld
BEKO, triple 'A' rated super machine we love ours. Stay away from Zanussi though.
ClaireG
We have just got an integrated Kenwood one. Had it just over a month now and can't fault it It has a time delay function and a half load option, as well as a moveable top basket/tray. My parents have both a slimline and normal Beko non integrated. Both are good machines that get used a lot. Especially for washing glasses for Dad's business. chicken bark
Miele every time. I got the cheapest one I could find and am very happy with it. I love the separate cutlery tray at the top - washes much better than cutlery in silly baskets.

sadietoo
Having looked at the options we have gone for a Siemens dishwasher this time. Sort of middle of the road verdicts and middle of the road budget.. we looked at the Miele, but really need a stainless steel one, which is more than double the cost of the one we have chosen. I have a Miele tumble dryer and I am singularly unimpressed (do you sort your washing according to fabric? ... it was clearly designed by a student since most of us sort according to colour!). We also have a Smeg cooker which is a true example of form over function if ever there was one. Never again!. The reviews of the newer Bosch machines (and the build quality which we looked at) were unimpressive. I'm not sure if we have chosen well...will have to see how it goes...I'm currently just looking forward to it arriving on Saturday!!
