bethbod
Hi I hope someone can help, I have 3 runner ducklings who are almost 5 weeks old. One of them has very shaky legs and only walks a few steps before sitting down. While walking this ducklings legs shake and wobble. When I got the ducklings at 1 day old the breeder was unsure about letting me take this duckling because it had been more wobbly than the others after hatching. By the next day it seemed to be improving and I said I would take it and see how it got on. For the first 3 weeks it seemed fine but as it has grown bigger it has got wobblier. The other two are fine and the wobbly one eats and drinks and is roughly the same size as the other two. I have fed them on duck starter crumbs for 3 weeks, then a mixture of crumbs and duck grower pellets for a week and now they just have the pellets plus sweetcorn, peas, grapes, lettuce or tuna a couple of times a day. They are inside at night and outside in a run during the day for the last 10 days before that they were inside all the time. I read about Niacin deficiency causing weak legs so I have been adding Brewers yeast to the food for the last 3 weeks.
