Alis girls
Spray floowers with a plant spray and water or sugary water to attract bees
chickencam
It is probably down to the poor weather we have had, so fewer insects around. If you give the flower trusses a shap tap each time you go into the greenhouse this can be enough to pollinate them.
Ain't Nobody Here
I'm feeling like a complete numpty . I have 2 tomato plants growing beside my dining room window (the weather's just been too windy to put them outdoors in my plastic greenhouse). They are both growing like weeds and have flowers on them (and a few little tomatoes) but I had no idea I had to do anything other than water them . Does this mean I'll only get the few tomatoes I can see and no more unless I manage this pollination lark?
Christian
Get a small paintbrush and pollinate them by hand. Just brush the pollen from one flower to the next. Do you know anyone with a beehive? You could bring that into the dining room for a couple of days
Ain't Nobody Here
I might just go for the first option, Christian .
