Hi omleters

Ive had my chicks outside now for just a few days in there (purple eglu) I did buy a (pink eglu) from ebay but sadley the lady didnt want to wait till the date we agreed to pick up and sold it so now im planing what to do as i need more housing .

Im loving my eglu and so are the chicks but im finding it hard to hadle them , they dont like to come to me when i go to the door so i need to open the egg port in the morning to give them all the once over before i let them out ,

My solution is a walk in run  , a bit drastic i no but i can get in with them and do the things i need to without crawlin about on wet grass .

I have limited space where i can put one though , the garden has been done up this year ( by me ) and looks awsome .

The only room for one would be where the shed is atm and me moving the things out of the shed and buying plastic garden storage sheds , them getting the walk in run buit at the back where there is loads of room ( if the shed goes )

I have no idea how big i would need one to fit 2 eglus in and ehought room for 6 ladies .

also do they come with a floor ???or will i need to get the area paved or concreated before ?

Can you raise the eglues on a stand and build a ladder ? Not to sure how this will work with emptying the dropings trays . i want the eglu to be inside the wir so i can get the largest run in the area i have .

Hmm not sure that this will help but I have 1 eglu in a 12 x 8 foot WIR on a concrete base.

I have had no more than 4 girls (although only 3 at the moment :( )

The Eglu is on a table so there is more floor space, I guess you need to double this size if your girls aren't going to be free ranging.

Just what I was going to say, I've converted my shed and it was really easy. I cut a pophole (got actual door from ebay) into the shed and attached the go run to outside (extended run) used wire and staples to attach run to outside of shed so foxproof. The !gored! is in the shed, still have shelves and feed in there but plenty of floorspace too which you could let your girls use for when they couldn't fr and you wanted to get closer to them :D

Here's a pic

x4lqfl.jpg I have added the extended run since that was taken and it looks great :P

So where did you all get your walk in runs from ?

I do want to put both eglus in the wir as it will take up less space than the 2 eglus and runs in the garden but will give them more room than they have now as i want them to all stay together . ive decided not to use the shed as i want to see them when im in .and think it will be to dingy .

what extras will make life easyer ? i want the table to hold both runs . i want a full size door but dont mind if they get out when im going in as they fr each afternoon till 10 when they go to bed .

any other things you have found you like oe wish you had got ?
