Sarah71
Hi guys, can you help. I've had my girls 5 weeks now, their crowns are growing and they've gone bright red, they go flat when I go near them, I've had one egg last Saturday from Pheobe but nothing since and nothing from the others. I've cut out all their treats so what am I doing wrong
harveypup
Probably nothing..don't panic. Just like us humans it takes us women a while for our cycle to settle down, I'm sure you will have eggs aplenty very soon
Christian
I'm sure that nothing is wrong. Babs always laid well from day one. Laverne started slowly a couple of eggs here and there then settled, but Shirley took ages! An egg then nothing for a week or 2. Now she is the only one laying
Jools
They can take a little while to "warm up" their egg laying so don't worry too much. The "flattening" thing is them acknowledging you as boss (or their cockeral )
AMO
They'll soon get into a laying pattern. My Amber Star can go four days between eggs so between them we have a regular supply
braden01
Hello! As a look back on this board will tell you, we too had an erratic start to getting regular eggs from our chickens. The first few days they laid eggs but with no shells, then nothing at all for a few days..and then all of a sudden we started getting lovely eggs every day and they have been very regular now for over 2 weeks. I totally sympathise with your concern but they will get into the swing of it soon and then it will be egg-city! Keep us posted...
