pips_pekins Posted August 22, 2011 Share Posted August 22, 2011 Welcome to the forum. You will find loads of great advice and information - I would be lost without it. They will learn where to go at night. Mine spend ages going in and out before finally settling down for the night and they are still all determined to sleep in the nest box despite the fact that now they are full size they don't all fit in at the same time! I have never had any problem getting them to bed but I do let them decide when they want to go and then shut the door once it goes quiet (currently about 8.30-9). I have read that putting a lit torch in the house helps but they will probably be fine now that you have shown them. Chickens are not as stupid as you might think particularly when it comes to the noise made by a pot of mealworms Don't forget to post some photos of your new girls. UKMARCH Posted August 22, 2011 Author Share Posted August 22, 2011 Thanks, tonight we went out to see if they were nearly ready for bed and guess what they had all gone up the wooden hill already, the others were still out mooching around so they went early! Today while the kids were playing on the Wii I took advantage and went out in the garden and read my book and did some chicken watching in the sun it was lovely.
