Tiggy
has anyone had any dealings with this lot. I got what seemed like a good deal for my Dads car insurance on line. For the last 2 weeks we have been posting & emailing them with info for proof of no claims and they reject everything they asked for the documents sent by his previous insure and got them, they wanted the renewal notice and got them. Still they say they do not have enough proof and sent a threatening letter to my 76 yr old Dad. Apparently he has got until Monday or they will either 1. refuse to insure him 2. reduced his no claims to 2 yrs 3, put up his premium. Dad is a trusting soul and didnt take copies of his documents. Patricia W
It'd make me wonder if I wanted to deal with them! Maybe look around elsewhere?
Jennifer Jane
Sorry I haven't dealt with Swift Cover, but DH had similar problems recently when insuring online for a short period of cover while he sold his old car. They wanted a copy of his driving licence, so he emailed it, and then got a letter saying they hadn't received it. So he posted a copy and got a letter by recorded delivery threatening similar things to what your dad experienced. He emailed them again and eventually they acknowledged receipt. As it was online, there weren't any phone numbers listed, so he couldn't actually speak to anybody. Perhaps it's worth you/your dad emailing them again. It doesn't help with the current situation, but have you tried Saga for your Dad? Both my friend and I, being Golden Girls (just), have used them and they are cheap and very helpful - you can do a quote online, then speak to a person to confirm it if you want. I haven't had to claim yet, so I can't say what they are like for that, but worth bearing in mind for the future. Good luck!
Tiggy
they have already taken the whole payment off my credit card, Dad has spoken to them on the phone but they insist that he hasnt sent them enough proof, they have everything from his last insurer including the renewal notice. Porr Dad is at his wits end, he contacted Saga (last insurer) to get another copy but they refused but the chap Dad spoke to said he couldnt understand what the problem was had never heard owt like it before. Griffin
My opinions on Swift Cover are not suitable for a family forum. In the end after consulting the FSA I was dealing with the Swift Cover managing director and not his call centre staff. They're cowboys to put it politely. Avoid like the plague and if you can, cancel the policy and go elsewhere. To coin a phrase from my beloved True Blood, they're Satan in a Sunday hat. Sammiboo
ive just taken out cover with them. I think i am going to have a bit of a nightmare. I was with Aviva last year and they never requested a copy of my NCB. I kept ringing them as i didnt want my insurance to be void and told them i havent had my proof of ncb requested. They said they would request it and i would get the details. I never heard anything since. I have just taken out cover with SC, i have used them before. They are asking for my proof of NCB. I contacted Aviva the other day and because they dont have proof of my NCB they are capping it off at 5 years (i should have 10) I now need to contact churchill to get a copy of my preivous year im stressing just thinking about it
snowberry
Since some companies can request details of your NCB via your old company; those that make you do the legwork are just making things more awkward for us in my opinion!

Tiggy
It seems that the only way you get good service from them is to do everything on line. So if you do not have access to a scanner to send documents electronically you have problems. Thankfully my neighbour did the business yesterday so now Dads policy is OK. Big thanks to that omleteer you know who you are
