Cube and run plus the Omlet WIR

Recommended Posts

Can't believe I am contemplating this having only had my Go for three months! However, I would like to know how easy it would be to shift a Cube around if it is attached to the Omlet WIR. I am assuming the latter can't be that heavy but does it disconnect easily enough to shift it around in two parts. I currently move the Go around regularly to keep the grass healthy so would like to do the same if we upgraded.

I would say you definitely shouldn't bank on being able to shift the Omlet WIR around very easily! We have one attached to an Eglu Classic and 2 m run and wouldn't contemplate it. The run does clip to the WIR bit but it's via a curved bit of mesh and rather fiddly so would drive you made doing it frequently. Although the WIR is much more flexible in being able to be re-sited than if you had a wooden one I wouldn't care to move it on a regular basis. It is quite heavy - has to be so it doesn't blow over. However, if you really did want to shift it from time to time you will at least be physically able to do it which you couldn't with a wooden construction.

I think the Omlet WIR is appealing because of the option of moving it but I wouldn't envisage doing this on a regular basis. If I get one I was thinking of 2 sites that it would fit and then move it between them, perhaps in spring and autumn. If the cube weighs 75kg then you're looking at a big total weight with the WIR too, and it has to be to stop it being blown over and/or predators lifting it up to get in.

What I was hoping that it would be easy to just unclip the Cube from the WIR and move and reattach. I take it is is not that simple.

Am now thinking along the lines of purloining a section of my garden - I do want it near the house as half the pleasure is seeing them going about their business. I just need to investigate what surface it should go on - it would basically be in a section of border - I'd just have to clear everything out and move a very small Magnolia.
