chickencam
My husband has just had an email from a young lad who did a week of work experience with him back in July 2010. my OH asked him to let him know how he got on in the future with his exams, he was yr 10 at the time. He has emailed with his great results and his plans for his AS's and future university plans. His email was lovely an full of appreciation for all that my OH did for him. He does make an effort with work experience people and only accepts them if he has the time to devote to them, so it was lovely to get this out of blue on his first day back at work after a week's holiday Young people get a hard time these days, so I would wanted to share this good news story
freddie
brilliant! We take work experience lads as well, and have found most of them just great, and keen.
Tiggy
I love stories like this, young people are getting a bad press. I had a chat with a young chap selling the big issue recently he was lovely and polite offered to help carry my shopping to the car because I was hobbling
kazmac
That's a lovely story. I hope he does well. Equally, my daughter needed to do her work placement 4 months ago and out of 30-odd applications, few even replied to my emails / calls and only ONE agreed to take her on for the week. The school no longer arrange placements, so this was very stressful and worrying. She loved it and also emailed to say thank you as they really spoiled her for the week and she was sad to go back to school! It's nice when people acknowledge youngsters and know that they're not all hormonal, lazy pains in the neck.
