craftyhunnypie
Hmm I have issues with my blog. It needs updating & maybe starting again. Although don't have time to constantly update it. It is toooo nice here to be glued to a computer. I can't wait for these chickies - the menagerie starts here. craftyhunnypie
Eggs stop turning Thursday night! I can't wait for these! No blips with the electric, temperature or humidity. Great stuff! Wonder how many out of the 6/6 fertile will actually make it out? All pekins of various colours. Wonder how many frizzle I'll get & whether the 2 Milefleur eggs will make it? Redwing
exciting! Most of my frizzle Pekins are boys, IO hope you have better luck than me I just hatched some 'pure breed' Frizzles only to see they have fluffy legs
craftyhunnypie
I have a chick! It pipped yesterday day 18 & it hatched at 4.45am this morning. Well it was there when I went for a wee. It looked like a penguin on hatching, very long fluff. But now it's looking like very dark grey. I thought it was a Millefleur pekin egg. Hmmm. Could I have mixed them up? Ah well, the other Millefleur egg has a hole in & is working its way out, as are 2 frizzle / pekin eggs. Little chickie will have some friends soon. craftyhunnypie
I've got 4 !!! Two that I thought were Millefleur are like penguins. One is blondie & the other who we thought wouldn't make it as needed a bit of help to just ooze out the shell is blonde with a dark stripe. They are adorable and are drinking & eating chick crumb already. Slight movement from one of the remaining eggs. Names.... Tarquin ( we think its a boy) Penelope ( think is a girl) Sheila (or Sid if a boy) & Gladiator ( due to it having armour of shell stuck to it). craftyhunnypie
My god, they are over a week old now. Sheela & Gladiator. The two blondie ones are both frizzles! Gladiator has wild wings - they are so funny. I'm thinking that Gladiator is a cockerel & it does look like just the one so far. But we'll see. Hubby has taken up to date photo - so hopefully I'll upload it tomorrow night or Wednesday when I get some time. So pleased with the chicks. They are growing so fast. They will soon be at that straggly feathered stage. Emma.x
Griffin
That teenage stage comes on so quickly Glad the early signs are good, fingers crossed for lots of girls. My later hatches seem to be mostly boys
craftyhunnypie
Gladiator & Sheela are little stunners. I have never seen frizzle wings so curly on Sheela - so very cute! The two penguins are going to have very feathery feet. Awww. I just love pekins! Emma.x
craftyhunnypie
Gladiator has a suspicious comb & is getting quite tall. However, I am pleased - as need a another frizzle pekin cokerel. The others still seem girly. Time will tell. Emma.x
