poppy ben grace
Feeling a bit sorry for myself today. I know on the grand scale of things going on in the world today this seems a little insignificant but we all deserve a pity party every now and again! My poor old hubbie was made redundant twice in one year nearly three years ago and we just about managed to get by. Six weeks ago he found a job and i thought everything would be ok but sadly it hasnt worked out and today is his last day. We are hoping he will be able to go back to his old firm as the building trade has picked up a bit and there is hopefully a position for him. Just wanted a moan really, i know redundancy is looming over lots of us at the moment but its still hard when it comes, especially so often! Chucky Mama
So sorry to hear this It is lousy to have this happen twice in the last year. You have been really unlucky and I hope that something turns up and that you can manage without too much difficulty until something else turns up Those of us in secure employment should be grateful in today's climate. patsylabrador
You have my full sympathy. After 34 yrs my OH who was a police sgt was told by some desk jockey that he was surplus to requirements & had his last day on Friday. He does feel bitter because his senior officers did everything to keep him on & it is taking 7 people to take on all the extra duties he was prepared to do. He has kept up his HGV driving over the years & has found work doing that with an agency, but its a dreadful waste of skills and experience when the Met is having difficult times. Your poor husband must feel very unhappy, its very difficult. It might sound daft but has he thought about the TA, they have a big recruitment drive & he may have skills they are looking for, especially an enginieers regiment. Good luck anyway. lillybettybabs
It's not nice, I've just been made redundant and now going through an Employment tribunal because of it. I don't feel in control right now and it's a horrid feeling. But i have a plan for when it's all over which is keeping me going.
pips_pekins
I have been made redundant once which was difficult enough. I am so sorry that you are having to face this yet again. Your poor hubby. You have clearly been through testing times only to find yourselves in a similar place again and are fully entitled to a moan. I hope things pick up for you soon. Alis girls
My OH is still out of work - he got a reasonable redundancy package but he wants to work. Keeps busy doing allortment and garden etc. Worry about winter as if weathers bad he will get low. Sorry to hear re your OH - hope something comes along soon
Redwing
I am so sorry I am just getting over being told I am being made redundant, its taken a few months and some very low days - someone said to me its like coming out of a relationship Its easy to say there is a bright side when you cant see it right now - but in truth there probably is. We can just hang on to our faith that things will be ok x x x

After watching the news tonight and thinking of those poor miners and their families i feel ashamed for even worrying about bills/money etc. We are happy and healthy and thats all that matters. Thanks everyone. x
