Very poorly girl bright green poo *Sad update

Recommended Posts

Daisy, one of our first ex batts (rescued may 2010) is poorly. Yesterday she was a little hunched, and quiet, she is noticeably worse today. Given her age, I am assuming we're coming to the end :( Will be taking her to the vets tomorrow. The rest of the girls are fine, but daisy's poo is bright green. Is this a sign of anything that might be contagious?

Further to this post, the other girls are leaving her alone. Should I separate her tonight, she could go in a poultry crate in the shed, or leave her to go to bed with the others? Is there anything else we can do to make her comfortable? Normally I would have brought her in the house, but sods law being what it is we have just adopted a cat from the cats protection league and she was in desperate need of being homed as was suffering from stress in her foster home.

Really sad this morning. Daisy died in the night. She decided the dilemma for us as she put herself to bed, and was in her favourite corner this morning. I am relieved that we didn't have to give her the stress of the vets visit as I had to do that with Maisie.

A few tears though, but she had a happy retirement and by my reckoning spent nearly as long out of the battery farm as she did in. Bye bye daisy.

Sorry to hear of your loss :(

I was scanning the threads to see if I coudl get some info on one of our chooks who seems a bit off colour today - I've just seen her lay a green poo (looks a bit like pesto) with a high ratio of white on top. She's an ex batt too and has been looking "old" for the past few weeks. I'll see how she is tonight but will take her to the vets tomorrow. Thanks for the orginal post.
