chuckmum6
Well Halloween is near so the shops have offers on pumpkins, which is my girls idea of heaven, they love them! I put one in with two small triangles to get them going yesterday evening, today there is only a little left and some rather full chickens heading for bed! memphisto
That sounds so sweet! Looking forward to seeing if my girls like them, they're a bit fussy but glad yours enjoyed them, plenty more before (and after when they're reduced!!) Halloween for them! jackian
Mine really love it. It is nearly claws out to see who gets the biggest bit ..Poppy is cunning she grabs a chunk and tries to hide behind the coup with it..thinks the others don't see her Wrong, they can really run

Griffin
£1.50 in Sainsburys and they had some whoppers I bought one for my lot on Thursday. I cut it in half, gave them one half of it whole but cut the other half into bits. They're still picking at the biggest bit today. A cheap but long lasting source of amusement. Taylor94
We gave ours one and cut a chunk out for our bantams and our big chickens had the rest and there was nothing left when they put themselves to bed but they wouldn't eat it with the seeds in it so we scooped the seeds out and then within hours it was gone. They loved it and ate it no problem raw so they have got another one today so we will see how long that one will last this time. Space Chick
Asda had them for a £1 each on Friday so OH got 2, 1 for each WIR The girls were very happy at their Dads generosity
chickenopolis
We got one at Asda last night - they are selling them for £1.00 (which does strike me as being such a small price for something that someone has taken the time to grow and harvest). Dug a 1/4 out of it this morning, and passed it to the girls, so were quick to snaffle out the pumpkin seeds - did I make this up, or have I read it that pumpkin seeds are a natural dewormer (although I do worm our ladies with Flub). Was worried at first of them choking on the seeds, but it seemed to do them no harm??? The flesh inside was still a bit firm, I guess I just let them peck at it all day??? memphisto
Just cut a large one in half for my girls and they've turned their beaks up at it, far more interested in the fruit cake the neighbour has just flung over for them
