Unsecure chicken perches

Unfortunately my incubator failed in the night trapping pipped ducklings in their shells, I felt I had to intervene (something I wouldnt normally recommend) and I couldnt resist getting these pics which show how large ducklings are for the egg, amazing really

How many did you have to help out? And how did it go? They look good x and amazed to be in the world!

 

I had to help a chick out on my first hatch (my only hatch so far ) which was the scariest thing I have ever done esp as it involved quite a bit of blood from the naval but luckily for me it was fine!

Ducklings are so cute, beautiful I had to help a chick out this year and and soon as she lay in my hand and I looked back at the egg I just couldn't see how she managed to fit in...I suppose its a bit like looking at a baby and marvelling how it managed to get out

When I hatched runners this year I thought the same, they are huge! -but amazingly one of mine hatched and went head first into its brother's shell and got stuck. Very comical!
