tinajharvey
I have purchased two cream legbars to go with a sole chick I have. they both were quite dark when I got them but one is going very pale and has very light wing feathers. How can I tell if they are both girls as they look very different. I need help as I can not keep a cockerel. now about three weeks old but ~I cant find pictures on the net of what they look like as they grow. Tweety
Cream Legbars are an autosexing breed -if you have a look on The poultrykeeper website, there are some pics showing the difference between the male and female chicks. I hope they are girls

Redwing
As they get older females should be brown and cream with a salmon chest and males will be more grey, cream and White Feathersite should have some good pics, they have pics if all breeds
chick wiggle
In another couple of weeks, you'll know for sure anyway because when i hatched cream legbars, the cocks started the beginnings of a crow at 6 weeks!

Egluntyne
I agree, the one at the back is a boy and they look not at all like Cream Legbars. Sorry.

tinajharvey
Thanks guys. I'm not sure about them either but I was never too worried about brred only that they were girls. I have spoken to the person I got them from today and he is adamant that the boys would have a plae spot on their heads which these do not. He has assured me he will swop it if there is a problem so I will wait a bit for a definate girl/boy answer. Tina
Sam
They would only have a spot on their head if they were cream legbars, which these aren't, so there will be no spot regardless of the sex. The main way to tell with non-autosexing breeds is the comb, and the one at the back has a much bigger comb than the others, sorry.
