The chooks are not in yet ...they don't like the ladder! I think it because it is open??? they are used to a solid ramp in thier Ark although Ginger Rogers did go up to the second rung from the bottom before she jumped off! but they will all jump in and out of the back door ...for a worm obviously.... (my birds are bonkers!)

I will lock them all in the run at the weekend and see if they go to bed

Well I managed to get all four into the cube to bed last night although there was much panic clucking! (mostly by me!!)

I had to use the magic tourch method in the end but it works every time...

I went out this morning to let them out and they all legged it down the ladder (with a bit of ply attached under neath ) But when I opened the top up to poo pick (I did this every day with the Ark) the poo was every where it looked like they had had a poo fight in the night..it was up the walls and even on the roof (I have no idea how it got there!) Funny thing is though as soon as I opened the back door all my chooks ran up the ladder to see what I was doing???? (bonkers)

its great to hear how its going. My cube arrives today but planning to build and have it swapped over next saturday so that I will be there at bed time to make sure they go safely to bed. I'm anticipating a bit of difficulty with the ladder but hopefully will go smoothly.

The ladder is still freaking Feathers and Beaky out..I toyed with the idea of removing the ply wood but as soon as the dippy duo saw daylight through the rungs they refused to go up! so I put the ply back on and the were up like a shot (side by side) I think its because they can see down to the ground and also because they keep slipping on the rungs because they are getting muddy feet with the recent spell of wet weather. Apart from that they seem to be ok.
