Cinnamon
By Chris Evans,in yesterdays LIVE supplement in The Daily mail: Father Christmas has already visited us with a pre-Christmas gift for Mrs E. (He sometimes agrees to do this, kids, if you can prove it’s absolutely necessary.) The Evans household used to be the proud owners of five fabulous chooks, but alas over the years ‘nature’ (ie, Mr Fox) reduced this number to two. It’s been in my mind for the last couple of years to draft in some reinforcements as a Chrimbo prezzie for Tash. Hence Santa paid us a visit last weekend with no fewer than six new chooks, plus a bonus two chicks (v cute) and a brand new handmade chicken ark. The Evans household used to be the proud owners of five fabulous chooks, but alas over the years 'nature' (ie, Mr Fox) reduced this number to two Now, I like to think that I have blessed my more than deserving wife with some decent presents in the six years we’ve been together. But none has come as close to hitting the G-spot (G = gratitude) as these champion chooks. And they were laying the very next morning! ‘This is my best day ever, apart from marrying you and having Noah!’ cooed my beloved last Sunday afternoon. And what’s more, I could tell she completely meant it. I once bought her a white Sixties sports car, which she pretended to like but I could tell didn’t really. We ended up selling it to a mate. I’m convinced if the same mate offered us £1 million for our new feathered friends, Tash would have him run out of town. I’m telling you, guys, there’s no need for that last-minute, overpriced jewellery purchase. Eighty-five quid, some straw and 40 kilos of hen pellets is the way forward. Your gal will be putty in your hands for at least a day. That’s nearly a month in chicken years. Oh, and by the way, Noah is thrilled to have been made captain of his first ark. Chicken shack
Hubby has bought me a 4 x 4 mtre WIR of ebay and I am sooooooooooooo happy so I know how Tash feels. Only ordered it today but it is made of steel and weld mesh. I know I will have to dig some mesh around the base to stop Mr Fox and the gap at the top and bottom of the door looks a bit large but at £299 I thought it was a bargain. The seller is safeshop11 and if you type in omlet on the ebay search more will come up. He is a new seller so I hope all goes well. Well done Chris Evens!

Olly
Ah - how lovely! My first ever Eglu was a present - although it was a voucher, not the actual thing - and it is definitely one of the best presents I've ever received. It introduced me to so many new things, including this forum.

Margalot
My DH had radio 2 on upstairs last week, and I was down in the kitchen with it also on, when Chris was talking about this. My DH came down and said " I dont suppose you heard that did you?" I didnt as it happened as I had been in the garden sorting out the chooks. His thoughts were "oh no! how can I live up to that!" It really would be my best present ever to recieve more chooks etc! How lucky Tash is!!! Chris certainly knows the way to his DW's heart. What a super chap!! Now for next years wish list............Alpacas????
