Egluntyne
How lovely that you had that sort of relationship with your MIL. Mine used to knit little jumpers for Oxfam. We found about 40 in the house when she died. She used to churn out one an evening.
craftyhunnypie
Hiya everyone! I'm now a K9knitter. I'm knitting doggie coats for the Dogs Trust & Chihuahua rescue. They sent me 3 patterns last night so I'm doing a stripey coat for a small dog at the moment. I've also been on the WI website & there is a cool knitting pattern for a shrug! My mum's knitting some cupcakes for the picknit as I speak! I've gone a bit knitting mad. Emma.x

Looney
I would love to learn how to knit...I used to have a go when I was little but ended up with holes where they shouldn't be I associate knitting with my Granny - she always knitted me stuff - and cool stuff too not the kind of unwanted Granny-style Christmas jumper if you know what I mean? She used to knit the most beautiful clothes for babies - little cardigans and jumpers - soooo lovely. I really regret than when I have children they won't have anything made by her How does one go about learning to knit anyway? Anyway know of a good book? craftyhunnypie
I was taught when little but re - learnt again 4 years ago by buying a childrens knitting kit from The Early Learning Centre!!!! If it's child friendly then it must be easy to follow & it was!!!! I've also got a book called I love knitting bought from ' The works'. Little square book with some funky knitty things! The scarf kits are a good place to start! Good luck ... Emma.x
