There always seem to be a lot of gardening freebies,seeds mostly,around this time of year so I thought I would start a thread where we can share knowledge of them.

 

Birde Eye are giving away free pea,carrot or Sweetcorn seeds with their packs of frozen veggies,via Facebook

I've just had a packet of basil seed attached to a Lakeland Garden catalogue.

My partner just brought me home 2 bags of coffee grounds from Starbucks to use as nitrogen rich fertiliser.

 

I've spread it on my garden. Let's see how the veggies grow. If my garlic tastes of coffee then 2 of my favourite flavours unite!

The Kitchen garden magazine in Tescos has five packets of seeds free with it, Beetroot,pepper, cabbage, lettuce

Aubergine. I shall be attempting a pot allotment.

Didn't know that - I just thought it was a slug deterrent! I'm glad my habit will now have a use.

Sid told me to spray my tubs & pots with WD40 to prevent slugs from climbing up them.

Good tip - I shall try it. Previous slug deterrent measure I have tried have included sellotape sticky side out seems to stop them (I didn't have double sided but I am sure that would have been much easier to put on )

There are free seeds ,not sure what ones,in promotional packs of those yoghurt things in a long tube....Frubes?????
