Help please. I am unbale to locate a supplier on Ivomec Eprinex (not licenced for poultry) I can get Ivomec. Amazon do one that has a picture of a cow on the front and comes from the US. I don't want to spend a lot of money only to find I have pruchased the wrong one.

That is the one. Do bear in mind that it's not licensed for use on poultry in the UK.

I wouldn't buy it from the US, it will be confiscated and destroyed at Customs if they spot it. It is a prescription only medication here.

Sorry, didn't see the bit about getting it from the US... I wouldn't if I were you. Any good poultry vet will prescribe it; it's off-label but recognised as the treatment for lice and mites.

I have ordered it form farmworming. They didn't ask for a prescription so they may come back to me and say I can't have it. I also have 3 duck should I treat them also? Thank you all for your help so far.

I'll be interested to see if you manage to get it- my (normally very helpful) vet wouldn't prescribe it for me for my chooks

As I suspected they gave me a refund and said they are unable to supply it. Now what

Chickenshack, please excuse me for asking but why do you need Ivomec Eprinex. If it's for worming Flubenvet will do the job and is readily available. If it's for parasites there are various remedies available including all the Nettex treatments and Xeno 200 which although not licensed for poultry is prescribed by vets and is also readily available.

Ivomec Eprinex* is a wormer as well as a systemic treatment for lice and mites; it is a poor wormer but very good at keeping mites like NFM at bay, which Xeno 200 isn't.

 

There's a thread somewhere where I went through it before, but do use Flubenvet as your regular wormer.

 

Having said that, this is all just information; the decision is yours....
