How wrong and how rude. The attitude of some people in this country is astounding. I don't expect the official who said this could begin to achieve what she does and why would he/she want to destroy her confidence?

That's riDONKulous. There's not an ounce of fat on that girl....have they seen her six pack?! She is healthy and strong, not super-skinny. Honestly, they should know better!

I have a friend who is a runner who idolises Jessica, my friend is way too thin, she is always getting infections and other illnesses, she took an enforced rest from running for a couple of weeks and looks all the better for it.

 

The bodies of althetes take a real pounding, so all the better if they are not running on empty.

She's not done badly for a "fat" athlete then - as she broke all domestic records over the weekend, but still recognises that she needs to do more . She will be well aware of all the demands on her body and will be on a strict calorie in and out programme.

 

as a Mum of 2 swimmers - YS could be called anorexic - as skin and bone, but at the age of 10 has a six pack and eats for England. He swims at regional level already - and ES is a totally different build - leave the athletes alone, they all know their own bodies - who is anyone to comment, unless they are doing the training and competitions
