My daughter pulled her earring in her sleep, any advice ?

Recommended Posts

Ages ago, my daughter pulled her earring whilst sleeping.

Although she didn't rip it clean out it has made the hole a lot longer and now the earring doesn't sit in the right place. It's too low down now.

She has left the earring out for quite a while now hoping the hole would close up and she went to see her nurse at Uni who said she shouldn't have had them done so young. She was 11 :?

Does anyone know what's the best thing to do ?

Eleven isnt young by todays standards - I see babies with them. years ago a friends ear lobes holes split totally cos she wore danglies. They were repaired on NHS. I think its unlikely the NHS would do that now. I dont know how long they take to close up esp if they were done some yrs back. Might be worth asking her Dr to see if can be repaired but you might have to foot bill yourself.

My 16 year old daughter had her's pierced about 8 months ago and wore an earring that managed to pull the hole down resulting in one hole being lower than the other. It doesn't look too bad but she is thinking of letting it heal and having it re pierced in time if it bothers her enough.
