HELP! Need to find a book for Fathers Day

Recommended Posts

My Dad is not a huge reader, but he sort of plods along with the books that he likes & frankly I can't think of what on earth to get him for Fathers day & I know he has just finished his last book.

But this is where I get stuck.....his reading taste tends towards thrillers, which I am not really into.

He loves the Dan Browns & those Dragon Tattoo books,so can anyone suggest anything else along these lines?

I did try a CJ Sansom, but ,as he hasn;t mentioned that he liked it,it may be too historical for him

Men eh?

Nightmares to buy for.

OH is a crossword man and always has a set of theasaurus and dictionary with him. The present copy i have noted is so worn pages are falling out in clumps ...so snook out and bought him a new set.....best i can do as he is a bit of a stickler to buy for.....at least i know they will get used.

Presumably if he has read the Dragon Tattoo books he doesn't mind things a bit gruesome and gritty, perhaps try Staurt MacBride's books, I have read most of the Logan McRea series by him, the first being Cold Granite they are mainly set in Aberdeen and very readable with humourous touches to relieve the more gorey bits.

Well that would be 17 more Fathers days sorted at least!

Thank you, wise Omlet people - I have even downloaded a few of your suggestions for myself,as I am always looking to extend my reading genres,& have never been really into thrillers as yet - we shall see!
