We made last minute decision to spend the night in France. Stayed in gorgeous hotel near Desvres. Thought I'd share some pics. ( sorry they're so large)

Sorry, I can't get on the computer, otherwise I would put a link.

It is the Hotel Le Moulin aux Draps just outside Desvres. We booked through Best Western. Amazingly it is only about an hour drive from Calais. It's nestled in a forest valley nowhere near anywhere..

 

The restaurant was pricey but the food was gorgeous, a bit nouveau cuisine and our French is atrocious so it was guess work with the menu. They didn't speak English and so conversation was stilted but that was no problem.

It has a really cosy breakfast room and has been designed I think so that all the rooms are attic rooms.

We went on the eurotunnel train and when it pulled back into Folkestone I heard a little girl shout "look daddy, it's still raining". It did rain while we were there but luckily just overnight.
