I am losing it....

Recommended Posts

Have been very stressed with work recently and hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel in that I have been offered a new post elsewhere starting mid october (different Gp surgery as a nurse) I havent told my employers yet as one is away and I didnt get offered post till last Thurs. I hope they will give me a good reference, morale at work has been pants and several nurses and other staff have walked out or left.

Apart from the fact its making me physically under the weather with tummy pains and lack of sleep - today I really felt I have got to pull myself together.

I decided to cook for lunch a Morrocan dish which called for a spice called Ras el hanout which I duly got. Having marinated the meat I opened the pot and spooned it on being surprised it was in a paste form Having now put on the specs to see if it needed to be stored in fridge - I realised it was a pot of Pesto - containing Cashew nuts to which eldest son is highly allergic.

Panic set in as I washed the meat under a running cold tap ( hadnt mixed it) _ i then re marinaded in the correct stuff.

I was shaken up by this - someone somewhere was keeping an eye on me ( I think I need it)

Morale of this stupid sad story is that its not worth the stress if you might harm those around you. I am going to get my self together. Thanks for listening.

Blow the other peeps at work - go for it and hopefully have a much better time. If you've got the job already chances are references have already been done and they already know you are going. Deep breath and now relaxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Mwah!

IME references are just a formality these days and very few employers take any notice of them - glowing or otherwise. For public sector jobs they're mostly a box to be ticked, and in the private sector people will get the 'real' reference by contacting someone who knows someone who knows someone.. etc

So congratulations on the new job

And hope it's less stressful!

(my best 'stressed moment' error so far - carefully filing student essays in the freezer and the frozen bacon in my work bag - am not sure the smell has properly gone many months later!)

Just so you don't feel alone with doing the loopy things - today I wrapped up some cheese but almost put it back in the cupboard instead of the clingfilm - I guess I would have put the clingfilm in the fridge.

Then a few short minutes after that I nearly threw some veg away instead of the peelings. Stopped myself in time.

I think I need my iron tablets again - it seems to happen when I'm low on the red stuff!

Aha, I have just been banned from donating blood for a year due to low iron ( ) so perhaps that explains my inability to find the right words for things at the moment. Today I've talked about hoovering the grass, turning the temperature down on the telly and putting things away in the, the, the, you know, the wood house in the garden!:lol:

Congratulations on the new job Alis girls
