Fliss has got her voice back :-)

Recommended Posts

Im soooooooooo happy as since March Fliss has had this horrible gasping cough thing, I did loads of research and was sure it was gape worm, took her to the vet who gave me anti-biotics and Flubenvet, I tried both but there wasnt any improvement but vet assured me she was healthy and it was just one of those things :?

Anyway she looked healthy etc but seemed a bit mute, a short while ago whilst cuddling her I was sure these sounds seemed as if she was trying to 'speak' (if u know what I mean) I looked up if it was possible for a chicken to lose its voice but didnt find anything conclusive.

Last week I introduced Connie and she started coughing so I thought to be sure id do another Flubenvet course (we are on day 4) I have just been in the run with them (will need better footwear other than flip flops as Connie keeps eyeing my toes) Fliss is still coughing a bit but no where like she used to and she is now wandering round chatting away more so when I made a fuss of her :-)

Stupidly I also changed the bedding at the same time as starting the Flubenevet so not sure if fliss just had 'an allergy' or if it has been gape worm and that my previous attempts at giving them flubenvet hadnt worked

Either way im so excited and happy but a little gulity its taken so long to sort out (hope it doesnt make me look like a bad owner :( )

Thats what im hoping she did sound hmmm a bit asthmatic but didnt think to look at the bedding but the more I think the more it seems likely as when they go to my mums for their holidays she seemed perkier and mum uses a different bedding, and speaking of which I hope the weathers going to be nice tomorrow as my girls house needs a clean, oh what fun although I love seeing them when its just been made. Suppose its no difference to us I love getting into my bed with fresh bed linen :-)
