Chucky Mama Posted October 8, 2012 Share Posted October 8, 2012 I think that it was pre arranged early on for Rylan to go through as the novelty act and I think they intentionally didn't give him to Louis so that it looked more credible. I did think for a second that he was going to walk after the sing off because he was so cringeworthy. I do think that it was unfair of Louis to say that he would save her and then change his mind. He should have gone to deadlock straight away. CatieB Posted October 8, 2012 Share Posted October 8, 2012 I am losing respect for Gary, having loved him I think he is unfair now saying thing to contestants that crosses the line from constructive critcism to personal abuse if they are not in his category. Look how blind he was to frankie cocoza last year, yet he can is rude and cutting to Ryland (and he was the same to the girl that made it through to Judges houses after he was cutting to her at the audition stages). And its not just a little bit nasty, I think his comments are too much. In light of that and how much he promoted Frankie last year, I think it was completely unacceptable for him to flounce off stage last night. Very unprofessional because he didnt get his own way. Makes me think hes a bit of a control freak. At the end of the day neither of those contestants are going to win, so why the big fuss? Does it matter what order they go out in? Its entertainment. Griffin Posted October 9, 2012 Share Posted October 9, 2012 I'm one of the rare people who will defend Louis. I can see his point, I'd find it difficult chosing between the pair of them too. Rylan is hilarious and there must be people who will tune in just to watch him make a fool of himself. Carolynne is a good singer but is that enough? Obviously it wasn't because deadlock proved she had the lowest number of public votes. As much as I liked Carolynne she's nothing special. I think the girl that went out was actually really good, certainly one of the better ones. Louis was stuck between a rock and a hard place and made the right call and Gary Barlow was definitely crossing the line into bullying, it was quite uncomfortable to watch. If that is his opinion then he should go ahead & say so. Yes I agree it is his job but his comments have at times crossed the line and been too personal. As someone else says a bit like bullying. Ok, singing not brillinat - but he does have the X factor. I would be gutted if he went out. Kye, Lucy & Jarmaine are our favourite ( as well as Ryland of course). Kye stands out the most though. CatieB Posted October 21, 2012 Share Posted October 21, 2012 My husband and I agree for once (such an unusual event in inteself that I could start a new thread) the next 8,9 or ten weeks of the show are pointless as Ella is the winner. If we are right, lets see, we'd say its never been so obvious. Even Leona wasnt obvious at the start. We think Ella would have to do something seriously wrong to change this. stu Posted October 29, 2012 Share Posted October 29, 2012 You may (we all may) be missing the point that the X-Factor is completely contrived, and things like the sing-off don't make any difference but to the potential for 'good television'..!! I hate it, but watch it anyway for that very reason. I hate the fact that in watching it, I am complicit in the abuses that some of the hopes of these aspiring singers suffer at the hands of 'good television' too.
