Chicken deficient
Has anyone kept one since they started chicken keeping? I really wish I had, though it wouldn't have taken much effort to keep track of this summer Maybe I'll start now.
kentuckyfried
We have an egg diary- its a little notebook where I write the date and how many eggs (and from whom now I know!). It really helped when Cam was poorly as I could see when her egg laying tailed off.
kinsk
When I got my first ex bats I did, I even used to weigh them With our new lot I don't anymore, every now and again I start but never really keep it up.

Chicken deficient
I have and the weight of each one and who laid it Chrissie Wow - that's brilliant. Any other statistics - cost per egg? Egg weight:chicken weight ratios? I'm genuinely interested and quite inspired!
good_egg
OH and I read about cost per egg on another post - think our eggs should have been made of gold the amount they cost! Liking the date, weight and who diary - might have to instigate that for the babies!
wannabe smallholder
I'm doing it to. At the moment its all written on my calendar. People at work think I'm so sad!
Lavenders_Blue
I used to, but stopped after a year or so. It was quite interesting though to see the difference between summer laying (over 100 eggs per month from 4 hens) and winter laying (13 eggs per month from 4 hens)!
