chickencam
Here is my attempt, a Black Forest Cake made for ED's 19th birthday last week, it was great fun to do, we made a lot of mess trying to get the finely grated dark chocolate to stick to the sides. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8182/8046743928_752f2e3217_z.jpg The main cake was a chocolate courgette cake rather than the traditional sponge that you would use, this was at ED's request because she loves really chocolatey cake. She loved it as did OH and YD, but myself and DS are much more plain and fruit cake sort of people. Edited to make the link clickable and the photo bigger. chickencam
Here are a few of our efforts, unfortunately it doesn't look like I have a phot of my fab battenburgh cake that i made for DS a couple of years back, it must be sitting on the external hard drive in the garage, it was a victoria sponge with a square hole cut out of the centre and a whole battenburgh inserted then the whole thing was covered with marzipan and decorated with sliced mini battenburghs. Can't wait to see others.

chickencam
Has any one else got anything to show and tell? OH and I had a bake off on Saturday afternoon, I made a coffee and walnut cake and OH made a carrot cake, he preferred his and I preferred mine, the children are too scared to choose, they just eat up like good boys and girls.
