Actually the eggs do look bigger on the piece of toast than they were. They were very, very tasty and I hope when she feels better she will lay some more.

Queenie is a millefleur pekin.

She is one of the sweetest chickens I've had, and I think the vet would have liked to have kept her.

I'm not sure what she was expecting but said "oh wow, isn't she beautiful "

Love the name traitor egg for shop bought ones I've always thought the little eggs my appenzeller lays are much tastier and brighter in colour than my other hens' eggs. Well done Queenie Hope she feels better soon

How lovely

 

They look very similar to the ones from my little barred wyandotte, they weigh about 30g each, two on toast yum yum.

 

Gave a box to a friend the other day 1 little bantam egg in with 5 hybrid girls eggs and her Mum said "I don't know what happened but she has given you this tiny one thats not very good" Luckily my friend knew as she had seen the little Wyandotte as a tiny chick and said that the little egg was very special

Oh Luvachicken what lovely eggs!! Pekin eggs are the yummiest!!!! (well I'm a bit baised, but hey!!) I didn't relise Queenie was a millefleur!! Monty my cockerel is a millefleur and I did have his half sister, but sadly she never really thrived and died in june I only have Molly my gold partridge laying at the mo! She is a real trooper and has hardly even stopped throughout her moult

 

Looking forward to more eggs next year....hope my babies are good layers like Molly!!!

Queenie being a millefleur is what the breeder wrote down for me when I got the chicks - so I'd know what I'd got.

She really is a beauty and I can't wait for the others to lay any eggs
