A couple of months ago I bought a eglu classic and absolutely love it as it is so easy to clean and wish I had got one years ago!! I have 2 orpingtons and a buff sussex. I am wondering what will happen in the spring when they start laying as orpies do tend to go broody and theres only one nest box. Also there is a part of me that would love to get a couple of ex batts.

Are cubes just as easy to clean out - I know they are bigger but is it a straight forward job?

Also, do Omlet exchange them?

I have to say that I disagree with most omleteers.

I like my cube as I can fit more chooks in but I find it a pain to clean. I quite enjoy cleaning the eglus but I find reaching all the cube difficult but I am not quite 5 foot so if you are taller it is probably not an issue.

I know most people love their cubes and find them easy to look after.

I'm only 5ft 1" Chrissie :wink::lol:

I feel like I am nearly in the thing to get to the back when I give it a good spring clean :( Perhaps 1 1/2 inches makes all the difference :D:D

I love the eglu I think it is a great piece of design and with the run has a special beauty. I like the cube but not as much, just in case you can't tell :D:D

I am coming up for my 1 year cube owning anniversary in jan!!! It has been the best piece of chicken keeping equipment I've invested in!!!! :D Just wish I bought it first not a wooden coop (which ended up at the rubbish dump!!!) It is easy to clean and very hygienic. I'm 5ft 1in and don't have any trouble. I did purchase a second set of roosting bars to make cleaning out quicker (one in and one to wash!) I have 5 pekins in it at the mo and will be adding 3 more in the spring. The nest box is for 3 but when my Molly goes broody, she doesn't want to share!! :roll: So this year I'm going to have a go at separating/dividing the nest box.

I love that you can add to the run (which I have!!!) and really like trundling it around the lawn for the pekins to have fresh grass!! But have sited it now and filled the run with wood chip due to the VERY wet weather and OH the mud!!!! But it is very easy to move around. Not sure what sort of set up you have ???

I did have to modify the ladder for the pekins though as the steps were to far apart for their little legs and feathered feet!! There's a picture on here somewhere, I used green garden stiff mesh and cable tied it over the ladder,works a treat!

Mine's a green cube ....what colour will you go for???

Hi Mimi5. I have part of the garden fenced off so dont need to move it round really. Like the sound of it being off the ground so no stooping over. I'd probably get a green or purple one. Wish they still did the blue as I love blue.

I've got my classic on for £275. Is this too much? It is only 2 months old and I need to fund the cube so cant keep it unfortunately!! They are £314.99 + p&p which I think is £25. So people are saving £65.

I am not planning on getting anymore at the moment - but you never know..... :lol:
